Adelaide Food Central had the honour of attending Caffe Paparazzi’s ‘Healthy Street Food’ menu launch designed by health and wellbeing expert Leah Itsines. Paparazzi has always had the desire to cater to all customer’s wants and needs; whilst still keeping the traditional Italian meals, the introduction of Leah’s healthy fast food menu along-side the previous ‘clean eats’ menu has put Paparazzi at the forefront of today’s food trends.
The lovely Mirella; owner of Paparazzi and Leah both showed us on launch night what true passion really looks like. No detail was over-looked by either of the two in preparation; with Leah ensuring all of her dishes were just how she imagined and Mirella triple checking every aspect of the night was absolutely perfect.
With so much food on offer I didn’t know where to start, each meal came out in taste-test sized portions so each guest was able to try multiple menu options. Now I won’t admit to purposely standing in the path of the waiters but hey, I had to fight off the crowds and get to the food somehow.
First I tried the Chicken Noodle Stir-fry; that’s right folks, you CAN have delicious noodles and it still be eating healthy. Leah advises that the menu is to show people that you can eat a variety of fast, healthy and delicious food without it being bland and boring. The stir-fry was full of fresh Asian flavours and had the perfect mix of vegetables, chicken and noodles; quite often when ordering a dish like this there’s never enough chicken. But no Sir, not the case with Leah’s Stir-fry!
My favourite dish of the night; the Grilled Barramundi with Mediterranean Quinoa Salad was so light yet would definitely fill you up if having the full meal. The fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, melt in the mouth kind of perfect. The quinoa salad had punchy flavours of coriander, parsley, red onion, capers, currants, and lemon juice with a bit of crunch thanks to a small mix of nuts and seeds. Each one of the flavours in this dish had fantastic balance and accompanied each other so well.
I was a little surprised when trying the Zucchini Slice and Chickpea Summer Salad, of course I knew it would be tasty but it was so much more than that, it had triple the amount of flavour I’m used to having when eating a zucchini slice. Usually I would want to jump for the salt and pepper but the thought didn’t even cross my mind, the slice held together really well and was one of the crowd favourites.
Everyone loves a good burger, but who would think they would be on a healthy eating menu! The Ginger Chicken Sliders were amazing; with subtle hits of ginger the chicken was crumbly and well-seasoned. The lime aioli was the perfect finishing touch, adding a creamy freshness. This was such a simple yet very satisfying dish.
With a few tears shed and guests tummy’s full of delicious food Mirella, Leah and the team at Caffe Paparazzi put together a fantastic night show-casing the future of fast food; healthy and full of flavour.
