When a restaurant has been serving delicious food for almost four decades, there’s a reason why it has such a loyal clientele and has been so successful.

Located in the popular Gilles Plains Shopping Centre, North China Restaurant has been offering amazing dine in and takeaway food since 1984. The restaurant interior is fresh and modern with lots of natural light despite the business’ age, and a stunning koi fish mural serves as the backdrop to the takeaway area. Their extensive menu is full of different proteins as well as lots of vegetarian choices.

Satay Chicken Skewers

The satay chicken skewers were absolutely delicious – fresh and succulent chicken breast morsels in a fine batter with a generous serving of thick peanut sauce. It had a slight kick to it, but a very enjoyable one. I could easily eat a plate full of these!

Sizzling Fillet Steak with Mongolian Sauce

Get ready for a show! This very generous serving has three pieces of steak fillet with vegetables in a flavourful Mongolian sauce and it comes out sizzling with steam erupting. As tempting as it is to launch straight in, this one needs a moment to cool down, yet the steak stays buttery soft and tasty.

Honey Chicken

A highlight dish for me – this hot, glossy and crispy honey chicken is covered in a thick honey syrup and so very morish. I kept telling myself ‘just one more piece’……about 7 times.

Special Fried Rice

A classic for a reason! Tasty enough to eat alone, but also a great accompaniment for all of the other dishes we had. Full of vegetables and finished off with some delicious pork slices too.

Singapore Noodles

Rice noodles as far as the eye can see! I hope you’re hungry – this generous serving of noodles has chicken, pork and prawns accompanying these lightly curried noodles. Our eyes may have been bigger than our stomachs in this case, but it meant yummy leftovers for dinner!
