CheeseFest + FERMENT 2019 – Program Launch

Australia’s favourite CheeseFest & FERMENT festival is proud to announce the 2019 program with a host of local, national and international stars.

CheeseFest & FERMENT will run from Saturday 26 October to Sunday 27 October 2019 at Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka in Adelaide, and showcase some of the finest cheeses and fermented food and beverages, and for the first time an international flavour with the introduction of Italian, Spanish and French Quarters celebrating cheese, wine and produce from these food meccas.

Our “Master of Fromage” Matt Preston well again take centre stage showing festival goers his favourite cheesey recipes, as he hosts cooking demonstrations during the two-day event.

The cooking demonstrations will also see a focus on leading female chefs, such as Sharon Flynn, Karina Armstrong, and Masterchef alumni Rose Adam and Jessie Spiby. All cooking demonstrations are free and first in best dressed with an opportunity to meet your favourite food hero’s afterwards.

This year CheeseFest & FERMENT is delighted to partner with The Great Wine Capitals of The World, East End Cellars and POL ROGER for the maiden Great Wine & Cheese Voyage. This 4-hour voyage will see people immersed in wines and cheeses from the Great Wine Capitals of the World. Wine from regions such as Mainz and Rheinhessen in Germany, Bordeaux in France, Mendoza in Argentina, Verona in Italy, Rioja in Spain, Casablanca Valley in Chile, Napa Valley in USA, and Porto in Portugal will be showcased alongside South Australian varieties highlighting why South Australia’s wines are some of the best in the world.

The voyage will see guests being educated and entertained with tastings at CheeseFest &  FERMENT and venues around the East End of Adelaide including Mothervine, EastEnd Cellars, and The Stag Balcony – this is a must-taste experience and tickets are strictly limited to 120.

CheeseFest & FERMENT will also be collaborating with Food SA, to bring the very first TRADE POWER HOUR giving the food industry an opportunity to network before the gates officially open to the public.

CheeseFest & FERMENT Founder and Director, Kris Lloyd, said this hour will give local businesses an opportunity to mingle with the trade, retail, chefs and other food businesses before the festival is open to the general public. The aim is to give emerging and existing businesses a platform to grow, do business, and market themselves to the broader food industry.

“We are excited to be working with over 120 food and wine producers, chefs, and cheesemongers, giving them the opportunity to showcase their businesses and share their knowledge and expertise.”

“CheeseFest & FERMENT is an important food festival for the state that contributes to the growth and wellbeing of the food industry. It’s also a lot of fun, so we can’t wait to see everybody there!” Ms Lloyd concluded.

Other local producers involved in this year’s event include, 23rd St Distillery, Udder Delights, Robe Dairy, Beresford Wines, Alexandrina Cheese, Kangaroo Island Spirits, Kimbolton Wines, Coriole Vineyards and Salopian Inn, with more to be revealed in the lead up!
