When it comes to food delivery, UberEats blows all their competitors away. Part of their success is attributed to their ongoing relationship they have with media influencers through their Adelaide Insider Program. As part of the program, influencers catch up monthly to get to know other influencers in the program. This month’s catch up was held at Faraja, an UberEats restaurant partner. Those who have previously been along King William Road would already be familiar with the restaurant. They’ve recently moved into the CBD and are still serving up their delicious eclectic menu.
For starters, we had Pumpkin and Parmesan Arancini, Duo of Dips with wood-oven bread, and a Wood Oven Pizza with goats cheese, mushrooms and black garlic. The highlight was the arancini which was soft and moist on the inside and wrapped around a lightly crumbed exterior. The pizza was also good with a lovely thick base and a generous amount of topping.
The mains included the Maple Roasted Pumpkin, Beetroot Cured Salmon, Potato Gnocchi (which we made ourselves), Pork and Fennel Meatballs, and Chargrilled Lamb Cutlets. Our picks were the Maple Roasted Pumpkin and the Chargrilled Lamb Cutlets. The roasted pumpkin was soft and delicate, and its natural sweetness was balanced by the tartness of the goats curd. The macadamia nuts add a crunchy texture to the dish. The lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection; lightly charred on the outside and pink in the centre. The baba ganoush was smooth and creamy, with a nutty flavour, and worked perfectly well with the protein.
Like we always say, no meal is complete without dessert. To end the meal, we had an assortment of sweets on a share plate. Our favourites were the Caramel Tart and the Parfait. The tart was rich, gooey and decadent on a moist, crumbly base, while the parfait was smooth and creamy.
