St Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert – North Adelaide – New Menu Dec 2017

St. Louis O’Connell Street is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of one of North Adelaide’s busiest streets – and rightly so, as St Louis is one of the most popular dessert places around.

We were lucky enough to get a taste all of the brand new savoury dishes and desserts that St. Louis have introduced to their menu.

First up, the Acai Bowl; which features a blend of Acai berry puree with banana, topped with Brookfarm Muesli, coconut shreds, fresh banana and strawberries along with the sweetness of honey.

They also provide the Acai Bowl as a gluten-free or vegan option. Who says dessert place can’t be healthy?

Next up was the Breakfast Waffle – which did not disappoint, as St Louis adds a morning twist to this Belgian waffle.

Lined with fresh fruit such as banana, strawberries and apples, topped with natural yogurt and crushed hazelnuts, teaming up with a side of maple syrup, this is certainly a great meal to start your day.

Toasties are (and always will be) a definite crowd pleaser. St Louis have introduced new two toasties: Louis’ Classic Toasty and the Smashed Avocado Toasty.

Both of the toasties are made with a light rye bread, but are toasted to absolute perfection as they boast that lovely golden colour.

Louis’ Classic Toasty is filled with thinly sliced ham, melted tasty cheese, sliced tomato and caramelised onion.

The Smashed Avocado Toasty is filled with avocado, sundried tomato, melted Swiss Cheese and Dijon Mustard, which opts for a great option for vegetarians if they want to delve into a flavour-packed toasty.

Following the savoury goodness of toasties, was a dessert that is a delicate blend of sweet and tangy, which is of course the White Chocolate and Lemon Curd Crepe.

The crepe is lined with lemon curd and white chocolate, whilst fresh strawberries and St Louis own French Vanilla ice cream grace the top for sophisticated yet delicious dessert.

Their new shakes – the St. Louis Churros Shake and the Strawberries and Cream Shake look like pieces of art you’d find in a gallery (of desserts).

The St. Louis Churro Shake is the signature milkshake, topped with warm cinnamon churros, dulce de leche (a sweet syrup) and caramel popcorn.

Whilst the Strawberries and Cream Shake contains a Wild Strawberry milkshake, topped with strawberries, fresh cream, a Nutella Macaron, Persian Fairy Floss, with freeze dried raspberries decorating the outside.

Not to forget the Fresh Fruit and Pretzel Fondue. This dessert it one suited for everyone; as the best part about this dessert is it is suited for vegetarians and vegans.

The Fresh Fruit and Pretzel Fondue features fresh banana, strawberries, apples and salted pretzel, with a portion of warm and decadent dark chocolate for dipping.

And last but not least, St Louis have introduced three new ice cream flavours and two new sorbet flavours to their already delicious lists of ice creams and sorbets.

The new ice cream flavours include: Red Velvet Cheesecake, Apricot and Almond Praline and Pistachio.

Whilst the new sorbet flavours include: Raspberry Sorbet and Coconut and Roast Almond Sorbet. All a perfect treat for summer!

So, whether you’re out and about on O’Connell street, or looking for fabulous sweet or savoury food to enjoy with family and friends, St Louis on O’Connell is the perfect place.
