Elbio is a Latin American wholesale patisserie and cafe that specialises in gourmet cakes, pastries and savouries. Their first cafe opened in Newton back in 2012, and to this day, they are a supplier to numerous food outlets across the state. Their overwhelming success has seen them open up a new cafe on The Parade. Located in the heritage listed Baptist Church, the location boasts magnificent high ceilings and spacious surroundings. Their menu is just as impressive with a range of breakfast items, light meals and Latin inspired dishes.
Today, I had a selection of their mini cakes. These single bite desserts are perfect for those who crave something sweet and want moderation at the same time. The chocolate caramel mini cupcake was soft and spongy, while the cheesecake was mouthful of delicious goodness.
The staff were nice and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and it’s an ideal place to unwind or catch up with friends. Their breakfast options start at $4.50, light meals $3 and mains $8.90. The bite sized sweets that I had were $1.80 each which I thought was reasonable.
