South Australia’s dining scene takes centre stage as Adelaide Dining Magazine reveals 2027 award finalists
As South Australia prepares to make its MICHELIN Guide debut, Adelaide’s established dining institutions, rising stars, regional favourites and hospitality innovators have been named among the finalists for the Adelaide Dining Magazine 2027 Awards.
Adelaide Dining Magazine has revealed the finalists for its fourth annual awards program, celebrating the restaurants, bars, producers and hospitality businesses continuing to shape South Australia’s food and drink scene.
The announcement comes at an exciting time for South Australia’s dining scene, with the state set to become the first Australian destination included in the MICHELIN Guide, bringing further international attention to its food, wine and hospitality offering.
For Adelaide Dining Magazine Director Shantal Hart, the timing makes this year’s awards particularly significant.
“South Australia has always had an incredible depth of hospitality talent, but to see that recognised on an international stage is incredibly exciting,” says Ms Hart.
“The MICHELIN Guide’s arrival is a significant milestone for our industry and shines a light on what makes South Australia such a unique dining destination – from our producers and wine regions to the chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality teams bringing it all together.”
“It makes this year’s Adelaide Dining Magazine Awards even more exciting, as we celebrate the people and businesses who are contributing to the story of South Australian hospitality.”
The 2027 finalists represent a broad cross-section of the industry, spanning CBD and regional restaurants, emerging venues, wine and drinks programs, sustainability, local sourcing, hospitality innovation and the people making a difference within the industry.
The upcoming edition of Adelaide Dining Magazine will also broaden its scope beyond South Australia for the first time, introducing a dedicated section exploring hospitality businesses interstate that maintain a strong connection to SA.
“South Australian hospitality has a reach far beyond our borders, and we wanted to explore some of those stories in the 2027 edition,” says Ms Hart.
“It’s not about moving away from our focus on South Australia but recognising the people and businesses who take their South Australian connection with them wherever they go.”
First published in 2014, Adelaide Dining Magazine is an independently owned South Australian publication dedicated to showcasing the state’s food, wine and hospitality scene.
Now entering its 13th year, the premium annual print magazine is distributed throughout major hotels, business lounges and tourism destinations across South Australia.
The 2027 edition also marks the fourth year of the Adelaide Dining Magazine Awards, which have become a yearly celebration of the businesses and individuals featured throughout the publication.
“This will be our fourth year hosting the awards and our 13th year of Adelaide Dining Magazine, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see the program continue to grow,” says Ms Hart.
“The awards have become a really special part of our annual magazine, and we’re looking forward to bringing everyone together in December to celebrate the finalists, our winners and the incredible hospitality community we have here in South Australia.”
The awards are designed as an uplifting celebration of the industry, recognising the passion, creativity and contribution of businesses and individuals across the state.
“The Adelaide Dining Magazine Awards are about celebrating the people and businesses who contribute so much to South Australia’s hospitality culture,” says Ms Hart.
“We want to acknowledge the hard work that goes into creating memorable dining experiences and give those businesses the recognition they deserve.”
Adelaide Dining Magazine also acknowledges the support of this year’s category sponsors for helping bring the awards program to life.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors for supporting the awards and helping us recognise the businesses and individuals doing great things across our industry.”
