Whether it’s the theatre, Illuminate or the footy, Luma Restaurant & Bar’s new winter menu offers a warming experience with its star performer, Gumshire pork.
From 5pm Tuesday to Saturday, a special two-course meal for $70 featuring the Barossa-grown pork will act as an essential pre-show dining experience.
The Barossa-grown pork is a standout for its prized flavour, drawing from rare Hampshire bloodlines to produce a lasting effect on the palate. Paired with creamed potatoes, pickled cabbage and mustard sauce, its fine marbling and tenderness are immediately discernible. Together, the flavours linger and as a main dish is a standout.
Before the main event, Luma welcomes guests with a glass of ‘The Vincent’ Grenache from 2022. Cirillo Estate in the Barossa Valley is home to some of the world’s oldest Grenache vines and produces a medium-bodied, dry varietal. Accompanied by a house-made mini loaf with pork crackling butter, it opens the palate.
For dessert, baked quince burnt butter ice cream plays with savoury notes to finish the experience on a high note.
Dinner seatings will run from 5pm to 8.30pm to work around any accompanying event.
The menu has been crafted as a collaboration celebrating local provenance and season. Highlighting Gumshire marries Luma’s persistence in supporting South Australian producers.
Gumshire is a small, family-owned farm in the Barossa Valley, with an emphasis on sustainable practices.
Pigs are ethically raised with deep litter eco-shelters blending indoor and outdoor environments. Retaining 60 per cent of Australia’s Hampshire pigs, Gumshire preserves integrity and traceability from paddock to plate.
Luma’s two-course winter menu featuring Gumshire pork is priced $70 per person and caters to gluten free and nut free dietary requirements. The menu is now available.
