There’s a new gem of a burger place that just opened and it will give other burger places a run for their money.

Introducing Burger Gem, which is part of the Sefton Plaza shopping centre, but located on the corner of Main North Road and Park Street in Sefton Park. There are 14 burgers to choose from, many of which are chicken and beef, and a selection of sides. Owner and Head Chef, Herman, has a wealth of experience in hospitality and knows how to make great tasting burgers. Everything is locally sourced and made from the scratch.

Adelaide Food Central was fortunate enough to sample some of the burgers and here are our thoughts:

Aussie Burger – The grilled beef patty, cooked to perfection, radiated a savoury aroma that blended seamlessly with the crispy bacon and the richness of a perfectly fried egg. The ensemble was beautifully complemented by the juicy tomato slices and the refreshing crunch of lettuce. A surprising touch came from the earthy sweetness of beetroot, adding a unique and delightful dimension. The melty American cheese contributed a velvety smoothness, while the burger sauce tied all the elements together with a harmonious tang. This culinary creation not only paid homage to the Australian spirit but also delivered a mouthwatering experience that left a profound and unforgettable mark on my palate.

Spicy Fried Chicken Burger – The centerpiece, a perfectly fried chicken fillet infused with a fiery kick, provided an addictive crunch that led to a burst of succulent heat. Complemented by a crispy onion ring and a cooling coleslaw, the burger achieved a harmonious balance of textures. Gooey American cheese added a layer of indulgent richness, while the sriracha mayonnaise brought a zesty, creamy twist that elevated the entire ensemble. Each bite was a sensational fusion of spice and satisfaction, making the Spicy Fried Chicken Burger a culinary adventure that ignited the palate and delivered a symphony of bold and exhilarating flavours.

Double Chicken Burger – The duo of perfectly fried chicken fillets stole the show, boasting a delightful crunch that gave way to tender, flavourful meat. Nestled within the layers was a crispy onion ring that added a satisfying texture, while the creamy coleslaw contributed a refreshing contrast. The addition of gooey American cheese lent a rich and savoury note, harmonising flawlessly with the tangy barbecue sauce and the cool creaminess of the ranch sauce. Every bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavours, making the Double Chicken Burger an absolute delight that left a lasting impression of a perfectly balanced and immensely satisfying meal.

Triple Beef Burger – The towering masterpiece boasted three succulent beef patties cooked to perfection, each exuding a tantalising aroma that promised a hearty delight. Nestled amidst the layers of beef were crispy strips of bacon that provided a satisfying crunch, while the crisp lettuce added a refreshing element. The trifecta of gooey American cheese slices melded flawlessly with the savoury meat, creating a symphony of flavours. The burger sauce tied everything together, infusing a tangy and creamy essence that elevated the ensemble. In every glorious bite, the Triple Beef Burger proved itself as the ultimate indulgence for any burger aficionado, an ensemble of robust tastes that combined to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.

Beef and Chicken Burger – The combination of the juicy beef patty, crispy fried chicken, savoury bacon, and the richness of two slices of melted American cheese created a harmonious symphony of tastes and textures. The crispy bacon added a delightful contrast, while the burger sauce and barbecue sauce provided a tangy and smoky undertone that elevated the entire experience. Each bite was a mouthwatering journey through layers of deliciousness, making this burger an unforgettable culinary adventure that perfectly balanced the best of both beef and chicken worlds.

The location of Burger Gem can be used as a function space and they offer on-site catering if required.
