Chicken Curry, Cassava, Coconut Sambal, Onion Chutney – The Sri Lankan Chicken Curry was a revelation of flavours, with tender chicken infused with a tantalising blend of spices that left us craving every last bite. The cassava, a delightful and unique addition, added a satisfying heartiness to the meal. The coconut sambal provided a refreshing contrast, its zesty and spicy notes perfectly complementing the richness of the curry. And to top it all off, the onion chutney added a delightful tanginess that balanced the dish perfectly. Each element on the plate was thoughtfully crafted, and together they transported our taste buds to the vibrant streets of Sri Lanka.

Chicken Curry, Coconut Roti with Onion Chutney – The chicken curry was a harmonious medley of spices and tender pieces of chicken, leaving a lingering warmth and satisfaction with every spoonful. The roti, soft and perfectly cooked, provided an ideal companion to soak up the rich curry flavors. And the onion chutney, with its sweet and tangy profile, added a burst of brightness that elevated the entire dish. The combination of these three elements created an explosion of taste and textures, transporting us to the heart of Sri Lanka’s vibrant food culture.

Pittu with Kirihodi and Onion Chutney – The Pittu, a unique cylindrical steamed rice and coconut dish, was a revelation with its light and fluffy texture, perfectly complemented by the flavourful kirihodi, a creamy coconut milk gravy. The combination of the two brought a harmonious blend of comforting and indulgent tastes that left us craving for more. The onion chutney, with its sweet and tangy notes, added a refreshing contrast, completing the symphony of flavours on our plate.

Thati Paan, Chicken Curry, Coconut Sambal, Lentils – The chicken curry was a tantalising blend of spices, infusing the tender chicken with a burst of rich flavours that left me thoroughly satisfied. The thati paan, a traditional flatbread, was the perfect accompaniment, providing a delightful contrast of textures to complement the curry. The coconut sambal added a refreshing kick, while the lentils contributed a comforting and hearty element to the meal. Each component on the plate was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the authenticity and complexity of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Chicken Curry, String Hoppers, Coconut Sambal, Kirihodi with Boiled Egg – The chicken curry was a symphony of spices, infusing the tender chicken with a burst of authentic flavours that transported me to the heart of Sri Lanka. The string hoppers, delicate and delicious, provided the perfect base to soak up the rich curry sauce. The coconut sambal added a refreshing and spicy twist, while the creamy kirihodi with the boiled egg added a comforting and indulgent element to the meal.

Crab Curry – The curry, a tantalising blend of aromatic spices and creamy coconut milk, showcased the freshness and succulence of the crab in every delectable bite. The flavours were bold yet perfectly balanced, leaving a lingering warmth on the palate. The tender crab meat soaked up the rich gravy, creating a delightful combination of taste and texture. This culinary masterpiece from Sri Lanka truly impressed me, and we can confidently say that it ranks among the best crab dishes we’ve ever had.
