On Saturday, Adelaide Food Central attended the recently opened Pangaea Kitchen located in Hampstead Gardens. The small eatery boasts a range of dishes from countries around the world, including pasta, pizza, seafood, American diner and Asian. The chefs have a wealth of knowledge from their previous experience working on cruise ships and living in the glamourous Dubai. We were treated with multiple dishes on their menu including:

Char Grilled Satay Chicken
These juicy char grilled chicken skewers were marinated with an Indonesian spice and presented with a sweet chilli sauce. Satay chicken is one of our favourite starters to order so we were happy to see these bad boys. A simple and delicate chicken masterpiece, which is always a must on any multicultural menu.

Chicken and Mushroom Risotto
Nothing beats a chucky and creamy mushroom risotto. Mixed through a well cooked arborio rice was mushrooms, mascarpone cheese, parmesan shavings and fresh rocket leaves. This delightful and flavoursome Italian dish was hearty and filling.

Chicken Parmigiana
This crispy free range chicken schnitzel parmy, is served with chips, salad and a chunky mushroom gravy. The chicken was perfectly battered leaving a crunch. I was super excited to try their take on the pub classic, and I enjoyed every part of it.

Dynamite Wasabi Prawns
This dish was something completely different and my favourite of the night. The crispy prawns were coated in a homemade dynamite sauce accompanied by a tangy Asian salad and shrimp crackers. The crispy batter was not too over bearing and you could still taste the tasty, subtle prawn underneath.

The Pangaea Chicken Open Yiros
The tender meat was accompanied with lettuce, tomato, onion shavings, tzatziki, and garlic aioli. I prefer to have my yiros open as the bread can sometimes be too filling. I loved the balance of all the ingredients and I felt like my body was happy with me after eating this dish.

Bourbon Glazed Slow Cooked Black Angus Short Ribs
These apple wood smoke finished ribs were perfectly cooked and marinated. The meat fell off the bone effortlessly. The mac n cheese was the cherry on top, with the sweet pineapple salad for something a little bit different. I couldn’t stop eating this dish and I highly recommend ordering it.
Thank you to the team at Pangaea Kitchen for inviting us to try the menu. We loved how hospitable you were, and how enthusiastic you were for your opening. We wish you all the best in your food journey.
