Edesia

Located on the west end of Franklin street, Edesia resides on the ground level of Avani’s serviced apartments. Wanting to service locals and tourists, Edesia’s café dining consists of a variety of breakfast and lunch options that are served all day.

Once inside, you leave behind the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Taking on a Scandinavian design, Edesia furniture choice consist of clear lines, wooden tones with simple accents. The floor to ceiling windows maximises natural lighting. It is all about form and function. Take a seat and enjoy freshly made juices or coffee beans roasted by Nomad Coffee Group in Melbourne, Australia. They also offer takeaway options if you need a meal on the go.

Chef Alfie Maurer has curated a menu suitable for everyone’s palette no matter what mood you are in.

The House Bircher is refreshing and naturally sweetened with the Granny Smith apples, soaked raisins with a side of organic honey. The perfect breakfast if you are in the mood for something light.

If you are needing a big breakfast, the Edesia Breakfast is calling out to you. It is served with two eggs, Cumberland sausages, bacon, seasonal mushrooms, truss tomatoes and sour dough. All the ingredients are cooked and seasoned well. You will not be leaving hungry after finishing this meal.

The generous portion of the Salmon Poke Bowl will leave you feeling full all day long. It includes brown rice, cucumber, edamame, wakame and pickled ginger. The bite size pieces of salmon are fresh with a mild flavour. Combined with a chilli and lime mayo this dish is healthy and delicious.

For something deep fried, the Lemon Pepper Calamari is cooked to perfection. Dip the perfectly crumbed calamari into a Harissa aioli and enjoy the tanginess from the lemon and the crunch from the batter. The calamari are cooked in the right amount of time ensuring the texture is still soft and not rubbery.

You can’t go wrong with Buffalo Chicken Wings. A good dish to get your hands dirty and satisfy those chicken wing needs. The wings are tender and juicy with the flavours being elevated with a rich blue cheese dip.

Edesia Burger is the classic afternoon burger. The freshness of the buns encasing the Juicy Angus beef patty, caramelized onion, melted cheddar cheese with house made BBQ sauce, mustard and dill pickles. The acidity of the dill pickles helps cut through the fat of the burger and adds a nice contrast. Served with crispy golden chips, this dish will satisfy your hunger

The Beer Battered Fish Burger is a lovely addition to Edesia’s all day menu. Using freshly sourced Flat Head, the battered fish itself is light and crispy. The fennel and apple slaw with house made tartare sauce gives it a sweet and tangy taste. A lighter burger that does not compromise on flavour.

Next up on the menu is the Reuben sandwich. Composed of corn silverside beef, melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut, pickles and mustard on organic rye, it is the ultimate grilled sandwich. A perfectly balance dish. The sauerkraut and pickles are not overpowering, giving the dish just enough contrast of flavours.

The Slow Cooked Lamb with apricot cous cous and tabouleh is divine. The lamb is not gamy, instead the flavour is pleasant and the texture is soft and juicy. Seasoned perfectly and paired well with a light and fluffy apricot cous cous.

Lastly, the Tangy Pulled Pork Mac ‘N’ Cheese is the definition of comfort food. The smokiness and charred pulled pork elevates the depth of flavour to a whole new level. Each macaroni pasta is generously coated with gooey melted cheese and buttery goodness. A dish to be ordered every time.

Edesia is open every day, serving their All day menu from 6:30am until 7:00pm. All of the dishes are cooked to perfection with amazing flavour combinations. With friendly and experienced staff, Edesia will leave you with a great impression.
