The Edinburgh Hotel and Cellars – Celebrating 150 Years

The Edinburgh Hotel has been a prestige establishment in Adelaide for 150 years. It’s owners Chris Codling and Danny Djurasevich have been manning the reins for 40 years. A lot of things have changed in that time but the Edinburgh Hotel has always been a welcoming space for good times and frivolity. Providing a location for what ever you need, from after work drinks, dinner parties and private spaces to celebrate with loved ones. 150 years on the Edinburgh Hotel continues to evolve to be exactly what Mitcham and Adelaide desires.

The Ed, as it is affectionately known, is more than just a hotel and cellars. It goes a step above that to be a unique and enchanting venue. From the cellars which were opened in 1991 and have become an award-winner centre of fine wine and spirits to the dining and function areas which have well earned their place as an Adelaide staple. What can seem like a run of the mill drive in bottle-o actually contains much more within it’s walls. I urge you to approach any of the helpful staff to get a tour of their cellars. There you’ll be treated to a sight of more than 2 million dollars worth of wine stock. The best of the best that Australia has to offer as well as the finest imported wines from Italy and France. The Ed Cellars is much more than it seems and is a connoisseurs delight. It is an absolute must for those who love lovingly-crafted liquor.

Like with it’s cellars the mission of The Ed is to provide Adelaide with something unique. The Ed has many captivating spaces each one designed to cater to different events. Whether it be birthday parties, work functions, weddings or cocktail parties, The Ed has you covered. With an ever changing menu from some of the finest chefs Adelaide has to offer and alcohol selection to die for, The Ed can cater to your needs whatever they may be.

Employing 110 staff, The Ed is consistently growing. It has long been a prime establishment for students studying in the fields of management and oenology with many who have gone on to become prominent members of their fields. Codling and Djurasevich have a love of Adelaide and want to do all they can to see it thrive.

The Ed is open now for your food and alcohol needs. It has always been here for 150 years and it isn’t about to go any where any time soon.
