From the brains behind Pizza E Mozzarella Bar, and Chicken and Pig comes their latest project, Chicco Palms. Located in bright and spacious surrounds, the restaurant has a retro diner feel about it and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re somewhere in Palm Springs. The menu is adequately sized with snacks, wood oven pizza, pasta and mains. Lunchtime customers are also offered Panini with a choice of meats, cheeses and vegetables.
Today, I went for the Panini with proscuitto, fior di latte, roasted capsicum and basil. A single serve appears to be half a panini roll. While it is small in appearance, don’t be fooled, it’s actually quite filling. The saltiness of the cured meat is balanced by the sweetness of the capsicum. The fior di latte is smooth and creamy, while the basil brings a lovely aroma. The bread is dense and spongy, and it will leave you satisfied.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of natural light flowing through from all directions. The lunchtime Panini will set you back $12, while pizzas and pastas average just over the $20 mark. It’s a great place with delicious food to match. Make sure you check them out.
Chicco Palms is open from 11:30am-9pm from Tuesday to Friday, and at lunchtime on Sundays.
