The Raglan Hotel

The western part of the city goes unnoticed for most of the time, but that is slowly changing. With the opening of two high end bars/night clubs on Waymouth Street, new restaurants along Morphett Street, and new high rise apartments in the area, the whole area is being revitalised. Adding to the hive of activity is The Raglan Hotel, a new boutique bar that offers a relaxing environment for people to relax and have a meal or drink. The menu has all your classic pub favourites, but they’ve been modernised to tempt your tastebuds.

For lunch, I had The Raglan Burger which was nicely presented on a rectangular plate. The house made beef patty was nice and thick, and the diameter was the same size as the bun. The meat was well seasoned and juicy, and the cheese was melted perfectly over the patty. The bacon was crispy with lovely smokey flavours, which is just how it should be. Its saltiness was balanced by the sweetness of the caramelised onion. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and crisp, and the brioche bun was lightly toasted and firm enough to hold all the ingredients.

The location of The Raglan Hotel has been many businesses in the past, however, I think it has changed for the better. It’s not just the delicious food but it’s also the relaxed environment and great customer service. A pub like this is much needed in the area, and now it has arrived.
