I can’t even begin to keep track of the number of coffee stores we have in Adelaide. We’re actually very lucky because we’re spoilt for choice. A majority of the stores are located within the heart of the city where there is a lot of foot traffic, however, there are the occasional ones that are found in more quieter locations. Joining the likes of favourites in the area such as Cafe Troppo and Vietnamese Laundry, is the new My Kingdom for a Horse. Apart from roasting their own coffee beans on site, they also have an all day menu which is available until 3pm.
For breakfast, I ordered the Roasted Berkshire pork shoulder with pickled red cabbage and relish on a brioche bun. The dish arrived 15 minutes after ordering and had good presentation. My first thoughts on the dish was that it was small, particularly with the $18.50 price tag. The pork was tender, succulent and mildly seasoned. The red cabbage was sweet which was complimented by the relish. I was more content rather than satisfied after eating this dish.
The staff were really friendly and attentive, and even checked to see when my meal was coming. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed, and it seemed a great location to catch up with friends. I thought the pricing was higher than average, and based on my meal, a little conservative on serving sizes.
