Kicco – Glenelg

Kicco is an espresso bar located right in the centre of the Bayside Village shopping complex in Glenelg. It’s one of three stores with the same name in Adelaide. My coffee loving friends come here religiously and they won’t even consider anywhere else. Their point of difference is their use of superior beans which are handpicked and roasted in small batches. Of course, it’s not just about the coffee, they also have a range of sweets and snacks to compliment the experience.

The Kicco stall is located right in the centre of the shopping complex. It’s a standout with it’s use of black, yellow and white colours. There’s plenty of seating on either side of the stall, and with the regular turnover of customers, you certainly don’t have to wait too long to get a seat.

Today, I had the Salted Caramel Tart. Inside the firm crumbly tart shell was a thick rich decadent salted caramel filling. Don’t let it’s miniature size fool you! This tart has enough calories to keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was somewhat vibrant with plenty of locals and nearby workers relaxing with their morning coffee. The cost of the Salted Caramel Tart was $3.90 which is on par with what you’d pay at other espresso bars.
