Station Road celebrates its first birthday on the 14th of November 2025, marking a year of innovative food and beverage offerings while elevating Adelaide’s culinary scene.
To celebrate the birthday and sunnier days, Station Road’s Friday afternoon Festival Plaza activation, ‘Friday Knock Offs’ will commence Friday, 14th November, making it Adelaide’s go-to spot to unwind, drink, and socialise after work.
The restaurant will also host a special anniversary dinner that same night, coinciding with the launch of a new menu for the warmer months.
Co-Owner, Mathieu Smeysters, says Station Road’s first year has been one of experimentation and fun.
“We’ve pushed to be innovative, teaming up with a few of Adelaide’s top chefs and collaborating on special events like Beauty and the Beast at the Adelaide Festival Centre,” says Mathieu. “The year has gone by quickly, and we’re excited to see what year two holds.”
From the office to the plaza, ‘Friday Knock Offs’ will have everyone drawn to Station Road to help end the week right with a live DJ. The activation will start every Friday at 4pm and finish late, from the 14th of November until the end of December.
The clinking of glasses and after-work golden-hour energy will thrive with Happy Hour from 5pm to 6pm each Friday, featuring spritz specials and Bone Dry Rose, CW Wines’ flagship vino. Mismatch Brewery, The Hills Cider Company and 78 Degrees distillery, alongside Fever Tree are also participating as the exclusive beverage partners of ‘Friday Knock Offs’. With outside bars, live music and a food station, it promises to be the go-to spot after work on a Friday.
Station Road’s first-anniversary dinner will feature a five-course menu highlighting signature dishes as well as new creations. On the night, guests can opt for a special beverage pairing or select from the curated wine list or cocktail menu. Expect gift bags, live music and a few surprises to make it a night to remember.
The set menu is $111 per person and will start with crab with chilli jam, puffed rice, garlic shoots and betel leaf, before moving on to beetroot with whipped feta cheese, blood orange and watermelon consommé. Quail ballotine will follow, with currant, pancetta, and mushroom, before guests indulge in a main course of rump cap, served with red wine jus and fries. Station Road’s famous Paris Brest finishes the dinner on a sweet note.
Station Road will also launch a new menu ahead of its festive events, featuring a range of delectable snacks, such as yellowfin tuna tart with spiced labneh, chilli jam and lime, or nori-wrapped beef tartare with chives, among others.
For starters, diners will be able to indulge in a shallot tarte tatin with crème fraiche. This treat will be available in limited quantities each night, alongside other dishes such as the kingfishceviche with coconut and daikon, the beef carpaccio with herb mayonnaise and parmesan, or the quail ballotine with melon and daikon.
The mains include grilled spatchcock with celeriac and guindilla peppers, a succulent pork belly with cauliflower and apple ponzu, and a whole crumbed and deboned market fish with sumac and herbs.
For dessert, don’t miss out on the chocolate tart with cardamom ice cream, the eponymous Paris Brest, or the banana parfait with sesame nougat and strawberry.
Set packages for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve have also been released, encouraging people to book early to avoid disappointment.
For $89, the Christmas Eve set menu celebrates the festive season with four courses, including oysters, prawns, turkey ballotine, and Christmas pavlova.
On New Year’s Eve, a gastronomic five-course feast for $179 per person will delight across two sittings at 6pm and 9pm.
With a menu including lobster, kingfish, white asparagus, wagyu beef, and a citrus rum baba, it promises to be the best kind of indulgence. A specially curated list of wines, cocktails and drinks will be available, as well as two different tiers of wine pairings for those wanting to indulge even further.
Dessert will be served in the covered outdoor dining area. “Complimentary champagne will be provided to finish, as you watch the city fireworks from the best vantage point in Adelaide,” says Mathieu.
