Tasting Australia 2021 – Gluten Free Family Festa

Australia’s favourite family-owned pasta brand, San Remo, has partnered with South Australia’s only Gluten Free pub, The Duke of Brunswick, and six local brands to host a number of 100% gluten free family events during Tasting Australia.

Taking place over four dates in May, The Family Festa will feature a four-course meal highlighting San Remo’s gluten free pasta range, using entirely gluten free, local produce from Barossa Fine Foods, Valente Seafoods, La Casa Del Formaggio, Pendleton Olive Estate and Gelista.

Collaborating with Head Chef of the Duke of Brunswick, Adam Faulkner, San Remo Ambassador and celebrity chef, Adam Swanson has created a menu perfect for a family outing, complete with ‘kid-friendly’ options.

Adam Swanson, San Remo Ambassador, said: “Gluten free is increasing in popularity with many people opting for a wheat-free diet, for either health reasons or by choice. To cater for this need, we’ve curated the only gluten-free event during Tasting Australia, partnering with local suppliers to showcase a full spread of what can be achieved using premium quality and locally sourced ingredients.”

The menu boasts fresh, local seafood from Valente Seafoods, tasting platters that will showcase a selection of cured meats from Barossa Fine Foods, cheeses from La Casa Del Formaggio, olive oil from Pendleton Olive Estate and a selection of premium gelato from local ice cream connoisseurs, Gelista.

Barossa Fine Foods Director, Seafood Operations Manager and Foodservice Manager, Alex Knoll said,

“South Australia is world renowned for its incredible food and wine offering and has some of the best family owned and operated food companies in the country. We are proud to be collaborating with other SA food businesses during Tasting Australia to showcase Barossa Fine Foods gluten free, high quality smallgoods, that have been crafted by the Knoll family.”

With one in 70 people diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in Australia[i] and a further one in three Aussies preferring a gluten free diet[ii], San Remo introduced its gluten-free offering in 2005. Its range now also includes the award-winning product, ‘Pulse Pasta’, made from pulses such as chickpeas and lentils, which was chosen by consumers as the 2019 Product of the Year in the ‘pasta and rice’ category, along with gluten free gnocchi and its newly released “San Remo Fibre Fest”.

With tickets costing $50 for adults and $25 for children under 12, the Gluten Free Family Festa will kick off with a dinner seating on the 1st May, lunch seating on the 2nd May, dinner seating on the 8th May, ending with a special Mother’s Day lunch seating on 9th May.

Swanson continues, “This event is an opportunity for people who follow gluten-free diets to enjoy some of South Australia’s most loved local producers. We wanted to make the experience as inclusive as possible – from the menu through to a price point that is family-friendly.”
