Missed out on that Greek holiday? Have no fear, a slice of Greece is coming to you in the form of The Local Greek.
The new Hellenic street food eatery is owned by Niki and Vasili Tsagklis who have an extensive hospitality background. Being of Greek background, their vision is to bring authentic street food to Adelaide. Even their chef is from Greece!
As you soon as you walk in, you feel like you’re transported to Greece already. Setting the scene is a feature wall which shows an alleyway in Greece. With vibrantly coloured timber furnishings, olive plants and strategically placed breeze blocks, you feel like you’re there already.
Opening in a few weeks time, expect traditional Greek souvla; slow cooked meat over volcanic lava rock. Unlike charcoal, lava rock is natural and cooks the food evenly while giving the food a subtle smokey flavour. Other parts of the menu are yet to be finalised, but from what we’ve seen, it’s going to be great!
The Local Greek will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am to 8pm. Our review of the food will be coming soon!
