For Mother’s Day this year, we were invited back to Beresford House for high tea!
Pulling up to the drive of Beresford, one of McLaren Vale’s iconic wineries, served us breathtaking views of the rolling vineyards of the estate. We were seated at one of the ten round tables in the Gallery Room and ushered in by warm smiles and classical piano tunes before being seated at our personalised place settings.
We were treated to an afternoon of savoury delights like leek and gruyere quiches, cucumber sandwiches, curried egg sandwiches, and smoked salmon sandwiches; as well as sweets like buttermilk vanilla scones, dark chocolate tarts, lemon possets, and colourful macarons. All this was served alongside coffee, tea, and a wide selection of Beresford wines and Bickford’s soft drinks.
While we ate, celebrity chef, Anna Polyviou shared a cooking demonstration creating her simple yet impressive dessert, the Bacci-misu – a spin on a tiramisu. The dessert included hazelnut chocolate, mascarpone cream, crème anglaise, and ice cream, all served in a chilled martini glass and made in less than five minutes.
Be on the lookout for information on next year’s Mother’s Day event on their website.
