On Friday for lunch, Adelaide Food Central was invited to check out the relocated store and enjoy the delicious burgers at Burgertec. I have heard good things about this burger joint, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. The rumours proved us right. The new store is twice the size as the previous and still has a funky take away feel to it, with friendly and accommodating staff.
We sampled four of their delicious burgers starting with the Double Cheeseburger. This bad boy came with double beef, double cheese, pickles, mustard, onion and ketchup. Think thick, juicy and double everything! Probably one of the best double cheeseburgers I was lucky to feast on. So much flavour and made with love. The beef patty was cooked to absolute perfection with a slightly pink middle.
The next burger we tried was the Texan with double beef, double cheese, crispy bacon, jalapenos, caramelised onion, and smokey BBQ sauce. Once again an amazingly juicy and delicious double beef burger. The bacon was extremely crispy and paired well with the other elements including the slightly spicy jalapenos, caramel onion and the tangy BBQ sauce.
The third burger on our menu was the Casanova which came with southern fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, chipotle mayo and smokey BBQ sauce. Oh my chicken. If you love your chicken burgers then this burger is for you. The chicken was fried to perfection and worked well with the lashings of BBQ and chipotle mayo. Both the lettuce and tomato were extremely fresh and the cheese and onion gave it that extra bit of flavour.
The final burger we sampled was the Erry’thang which included southern fried chicken, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, double cheese, double bacon, egg, smokey bbq sauce, and herbed mayo. What a fantastic dish to finish off the afternoon with. The ultimate hangover meal, this burger definitely lives up to its name. You want erry’thang in your burger well you got erry’thang in your burger, and double of it too.
Thank you to Stephen George and the team at Burgertec for showing us what great burgers taste like. They are some of the best burgers that I have tried in my time, and I guarantee that they will continue to strive in the business. We highly recommend heading down to the store to see what all the fuss is about.
