Adelaide Fringe 2019 – Baby Wants Candy

Adelaide Food Central was lucky enough on Sunday night to attend Baby Wants Candy a theatrical musical held in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. If you want to laugh until you cry then this show is for you.

Baby Wants Candy is a completely improvised stage show, the audience choose what they want to see. The crowd will shout out the title of the musical and it will be settled with a cheer vote. The musical that we were lucky enough to set our eyes on was called ‘First Date Disasters’. Not only were we taken on a journey through some interesting date disasters, we were introduced to a character called Little Cha Cha and his not so little Cha Cha. They also decided that there would be a gender roll switch, which made it that extra bit funnier. Each and every night the performers will act a different show, they will not know what is going to come out of their mouths until they say it. You can tell even its a surprise to them with the absurdities that they blurt out.

This is one of those performances that you could see over and over again as each night there will be something completely different. I know for sure that I will be back to see Baby Wants Candy as it was completely ridiculous and left me in stiches. The all American cast/ keyboard player are supported by a local Adelaide band. You can tell both the cast and musicians have so much fun making this show through their enthusiasm and talent.

Catch the Baby Wants Candy show at the Box in the Garden Of Unearthly Delights 7pm every day of the Adelaide Fringe.
