Beyond India is an Adelaide institution. They’ve been around for over 20 years and have been serving authentic Indian food at one of their two restaurants or at big name events in the form of a food truck. We recently were invited to try their new summer menu before it officially launches.
Vindaloo Buffalo Wings
This is an east meets west entree. The hints of vindaloo are combined perfectly with the spicy kick of American style buffalo wings. There’s a raita sauce for those who can’t handle the heat.
Chole Bhature (Chickpea Curry)
In India, vegetarian curries are more popular than the meat variety, and this dish is one reason why. The braised chickpeas are firm but delicate, and full of flavour! There were hints of black cardamom, ginger and dried mango in the sauce which took it to the next level.
Jhinga Masala with Lemon Rice (South Indian Prawn Curry)
Seafood lovers out there would love the prawn curry. The sauce is thick and contains curry leaves, tomato, tamarind and coconut. The prawns were caramelised and matched perfectly with the curry sauce.
Barrah Kebab (Lamb Cutlet)
The lolly pop lamb cutlet is the best part of the lamb. Infused with ginger, fenugreek and garam masala, the cutlets were tender and juicy with a lovely smokey flavour.
Murg Shahjahani Korma (Chicken Korma)
I’m used to a Lamb Korma, but a Chicken Korma is just as good. Morsels of tender chicken breast are drowning in a thick sauce full of cashew and cardamom.
Beyond India has two store with different opening hours. Please check their website for details.
