Open fires, live music, sumptuous food and some of the best wines in the world on pour…..this is just a snippet of what can be expected at the highly anticipated Adelaide Hills Winter Reds.
Dress up or dress down and embrace the wintry ‘feels’ of the beautiful Adelaide Hills for a festival of fun and wine exploration at the ninth annual Adelaide Hills Winter Reds.
The weekend will unfold from the 27th till the 29th of July and involves 29 wineries and venues throughout the region.
Venues will host a variety of events to suit all wine-related desires from long-table lunches and fireside feasts, tastings and masterclasses (of course!), day parties and family friendly experiences and activities.
The 2018 program, boasting 40 events, is now online, with several of the exclusive ticketed events such as the Tomich Wines Marie Antoinette themed French banquet at the Manor in Basket Range and the inaugural Bravio Montepulciano launch with a three-course foraged feast at the new Fox Gordon Cellar Door in Kupito, proving very popular.
Adelaide Hills Wine Region Executive Officer, Kerry Treuel, said: “The Winter Reds weekend keeps getting better every year with new venues, new events and new experiences for wine, food and festival lovers to enjoy!”
“There are so many tempting options including masterclasses for the eager wine lover, glamorous day parties and plenty family-friendly experiences.”
Winter Red goers are encouraged to plan an itinerary to fit as many experiences as possible and with a great range of accommodation and transport options in the Hills, wine lovers are well and truly catered for.
Ms Treuel said: “For the ultimate day out, head to the ever-popular Lane Vineyard for a mulled wine at their Après-Ski Chalet Bar or warm up fire side at Anderson Hill with their all-day Campfire, Curries and Cheers event.
“Pike & Joyce’s ‘Bonjour’ feast of French inspired cuisine with soul warming tunes in the open garden is set to be popular and Howard Vineyard has teamed up with Pirate Life Ales for a little variety and their signature sticky chicken wings – meet the makers and relax to live music. And so much more.
The Adelaide Hills Wine Region is more passionate and excited about Winter Reds than ever before.
Ms Treuel said: “This is in part to the fabulous program on offer, but we also know that Adelaide Hills fans are keen to celebrate the region and get involved in this Winter event following the weather challenges of Crush Festival earlier this year.
“We are hoping visitation numbers will sky rocket and supersede last year’s record attendance of 14,000 festival goers.
Entry to non-ticketed general events is free. Pricing for ticketed events ranges from $20 to $240.
