Close your eyes and picture this…
It’s snowing outside. You’re sitting in a cosy armchair by the crackling fire, watching the snow flutter gently out the window. You take a sip of Hot Buttery Rum and your fingers start to defrost. A wooden cabin surrounds you, light hums in the air. Take a deep breath and…
Wait! This isn’t a romantic Canadian hillside cabin I’m talking about… This.. with a few visual effects, is Adelaide’s very own, Lodge Pop-Up Bar.
Adelaide Skycity Casino has transformed their Grand Heritage Entrance Hall into a plush indoor ski chalet and walking in Thursday night for the launch, was like being back in a hillside cabin on a snowy mountain, warming up after a big day skiing.
During the Thursday night launch of The Lodge Pop-Up Bar, guests were spoilt to a three metre long grazing table from Graze Gourmet Platter Co. with an “oozy, ever-so-cheesy” selection of local and imported cheeses, fresh fruits, sticky honeycomb, rich dark chocolate and all things indulgent.
The bar was stocked with steamy winter beverages, including Rekorderlig’s Hot Apple Cider, served with fresh orange and a hint of cinammon, Hot Buttery Rum and then there was the Hot Chocolate with salted caramel, whisky and hot toffee liqueur (my mouth’s watering just thinking about it)…
Mangia Mangia joined the celebrations with their fresh Italian Zeppoles. With a light crisp texture, a mound of whipped brandy cream, caramel sauce and pecan crumb. With four other decadent toppings to choose from, we were in donut heaven.
Adelaide Skycity Casino’s Lodge Pop-Up Bar will be open for the next six weeks from Friday to Sunday from 5pm-1am. So if a hot steamy cider, Italian donut and cheese plate is what you’re looking for, then look no further for a place to warm up this winter.
