The Store is a busy restaurant in North Adelaide that opened in 1998. Brunch is a popular time of day where people like to get together to share fantastic food and coffee. The Store decided to listen to their customers wants by re-introducing its all day brunch menu. Providing brunch all day means that all customers can sample their striking menu until 3pm. The café also serves $10 Espresso Martinis and Bloody Marys, which anyone would be excited about. Adelaide Food Central was lucky enough to be invited along to sample some of the incredible dishes that is offered on their brunch menu.
We started with ‘The Store’ Original Bircher Muesli with vanilla bean yoghurt, poached fruit and berry compote. Since The Store opened in 1998 their bircher muesli recipe has not changed, and there is really no need for it to. The muesli was creamy and milky and the fresh fruit added a sweet element to the dish.
We also sampled the Beetroot and Ricotta on sourdough toast, poached eggs, spinach and dukkah. I have previously sampled this dish before at The Store and it has always been one of my favourites. The sweet flavour of beetroot pairs well with the soft spinach. The eggs were perfectly poached, with a yellow, runny yolk, just the way I like it. The dukkah added a nutty addition to the dish; the sourdough was also toasted well.
The last dish we sampled was the Salt and Pepper Squid Salad with bok choy, red onion, snow peas, coriander, red capsicum and mung beans with an Asian style dressing. The squid was cooked perfectly with a crispy outside and soft inside. All the vegetables were fresh and crunchy and the sweet and delicious Asian dressing complimented the entire dish.
The Store is open Monday to Friday from 7am-3pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am-3pm. We would love to thank Sam Dunning for introducing us to The Store’s fabulous all day brunch menu. We would also like to thank JP Media for inviting us along.
