It’s hard to believe but Pancakes at the Port has been around for nearly 16 years. Chef Sylvain first started with the original founders of the business in 2006 and then took over the management side of things in 2014. Like all good businesses, it’s all about supporting the local economy. All the meats, fruits, vegetables and eggs are sourced from local suppliers.
This morning I had the Farmers Breakfast – Two buttermilk pancakes served with eggs and golden hash browns. The pancakes were light and fluffy, while the hash browns were nice and crispy. The eggs were cooked sunny side up with egg white just cooked and the yolk still nice and runny. Simple, yet so delicious.
Pancakes at the Port is located in a prime position with fantastic views of the Port River. The main dining area is spacious, as is the private function area, all with floor to ceiling windows. The staff are warm and friendly, and the service was fast and efficient. The place has a casual and relaxed vibe, and the pricing is reasonable with the average meal around the $15 mark. If you’re ever down at Port Adelaide, make sure you give this place a try.
