It’s that time of year again where the public get to meet, taste and discover South Australia’s produce at the multi award winning Cellar Door Wine Festival held at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Featuring over 180 beer, wine, spirit and food producers from 15 South Australian regions, people can enjoy complimentary tastings and food sampling under the one roof. Adelaide Food Central, along with other invited guests, were given a preview of the event.
We started the evening off on the new Adelaide Convention Centre balcony where we learnt the art of making the Spritzer. Mark Reginato from The Distillery Shop taught us what a spritzer is as well as teaching us how to make a perfect one. We were also treated to some delicious antipasto platters from the Adelaide Convention Centre delicatessen.
The next stop was at The Henry Austin where we had a wine masterclass. We did some wine tasting with David Bowley from Vinteloper while enjoying some nibbles courtesy of The Henry Austin.
The last stop was at Ambra Liqueurs for some tasting of their finest beverages. These were accompanied by the tastiest desserts provided by Marcus Booth-Remmers of Red Cacao. Sweet treats included Lemon Myrtle and White Chocolate Mousse, Pistachio and Raspberry Macarons, and Salted Caramel Milk Truffles. Absolutely perfect with the liqueurs and a great way to end the night.
If tonight’s media preview was anything to go by, this year’s Cellar Door Wine Festival is going to be simply amazing!
