The conversion of laneways into bars is something we’re starting to see more of. It’s the perfect way to make use of disused space and ideal for those warm summer nights. Unlike other laneway bars, entry into Havana Club is not via the main street but through Propoganda Club. It’s like a visit to IKEA where you have to go a tour before you reach the final destination. Adelaide Food Central was invited to launch of this go-to summer destination with all food and drink being provided free of charge.
The space in the Havana Club is a distinct contrast to the high levels of luxury you find in Propoganda Club. The lane has a classy Latino feel with warm vibrant colours setting the mood for a great night out. A high timber wall segregates the building from the laneway, creating a unique space for all to enjoy. Behind the wall are DJ’s playing their chilled tunes, while there is a bar at the end of the laneway.
At the time of writing, Havana Club will be open Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, and like most bars in Adelaide, drinks will be served until 3am. The laneway is rather versatile and the space has been earmarked for special events that happen throughout the year. The advantage of its location is that it is attached to Adelaide’s only late night supper club. With food served until 6am at Propoganda Club, there’s no reason to leave this place hungry.
Adelaide Food Central would like to thank the staff at Havana Lane and Propoganda Club for their hospitality, and Girl About Town for the invite.
