Let’s get ready to party folks! For the first time in Adelaide, Australia’s biggest and best Oktoberfest celebrations is coming to the city of churches. The Adelaide Showgrounds will be transformed into a German festival paradise, and will be the place to be on Saturday, October 15th. In its 6th year, Oktoberfest in the Gardens has already been a major hit in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth with an expected national turnout of 60,000.
On Saturday, October 15th, the inaugural Adelaide event will start off at 2pm with a keg tapping ceremony. The head brewer from the world’s oldest brewery and principal event partner, Weihenstephan, as well as one lucky guest will be responsible for opening this great event.
Oktoberfest in the Gardens has been inspired by the love of the traditional Bavarian festival and great beer. With your own little bit of Germany, expect to see the largest beer hall in Australia, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, sideshow alley, silent disco and an eclectic mix of entertainment and on stage competitions across multiple stages throughout the afternoon and evening. Of course, you won’t go thirsty either! There will be a large selection of imported German beer, as well as wine, cider and a range of other beverages.
The turnout in Adelaide is set to be huge with an expected attendance of more than 5,000. Oktoberfest in the Gardens promises to be the the biggest and best Oktoberfest event that Adelaide has ever seen!
All ticket holders to the Oktoberfest in the Gardens event will receive a commemorative event stein (550ml) and a complimentary can of German beer on arrival.
