Last night saw the launch of Flavours of South Australia, a book that explores the culinary destinations that Adelaide and South Australia has to offer. Smudge Publishing has had success with previous Flavours books in Sydney and Melbourne and has now showcased 100 restaurants, bars, chefs, producers and winemakers to celebrate all things uniquely South Australian.
The launch was held in the Proof Bar just off Waymouth Street where around 100 people crammed into the small but intimate space. An open bar was enjoyed by all guests as well as canapés provided by Press. This included Miso Salmon and Cucumber Skewers, Seared Beef with a Horseradish Cream and Veal Croquettes, which were each very delicious.
Guests included Minister for Tourism Leon Bignell, media, restaurant, cheese and winery owners who are featured in the book. The general vibe amongst guests was of how the book shows off South Australia’s food scene perfectly. It features world-renowned wineries of the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley, most popular urban, city and Adelaide Hills restaurants and even recipes for you to create at home! This book is definitely a must read and a perfect coffee table addition.
Flavours of South Australia will be available to buy from next week.
