It was only a few years ago when Adelaide experienced a flood of new dessert bars coming on to the scene. While the trend has died down, it’s still good to see a new dessert place pop up now and then. Only a week old, Han’s Patisserie is the latest to open up in the city centre. They don’t have creative desserts that you would see at other places but rather small pre-made sweets that sit in a cabinet.
Today, I ordered the Oreo Mille Crepe. It’s a classic French cake that translates into “thousand crepe cake”. The dessert is made from 15 layers of delicate chocolate crepe with a silky smooth pastry cream between each layer. Visually, you can see bits of Oreo cookie thrown into the mixture but it didn’t really affect the texture. Personally, I thought it tasted a bit bland with the only sweetness coming from the Oreo cookie on top.
The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was average. The cost of the dessert was $7.80 which is probably what you would pay elsewhere.
Would I have this dessert again? Probably not.
