One of the biggest food trends at the moment are places that provide healthy eating options. The latest to join the ranks is The Nourish’d Kitchen which is located on Ann Street, just off Magill Road. The food here comes in the form of simple breakfast and lunch options that are free of sugar, grains and gluten. This pretty much allows everyone to eat here.
The decor is very neat and well presented with a tasteful use of timber and greenery. A cosy lounge area in the corner allows you to sit back and relax, while the seating along the window is a great way to watch the day go past. There is a communal table in the centre of the room which would be great for larger groups.
For lunch, we ordered the Roasted Cauliflower Soup and Veggie Frittata. The dish was beautifully presented on a wooden chopping board and it was almost too good to eat. The Cauliflower soup had a lovely thick consistency and was full of flavour. The Veggie Frittata was even better and was one of the best I’ve had. The egg was light and fluffy, and the vegetables portions were full of natural sweetness. Throw in a few bite sized chunks of cheese that exploded in your mouth, and it was indeed an experience to be had.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food came out promptly and I particularly liked the way that they checked to see whether we were happy with our meals. The soup and the frittata were $8 each which is a bargain for healthy food. We also had a smoothie each which were $9 a bottle.
All in all, we both had a pleasant experience and found very little to fault. This is one place where I’ll definitely come back to.
