It just so happens that my job takes me to corners of Adelaide that I wouldn’t normally go. Today, I find myself at Hallett Cove Shopping Centre where I stop off for a bite to eat at Cafe Rimini, a medium sized Italian cafe. It’s actually located on Lonsdale Road and separate from the shopping centre. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu reads like a typical Italian cafe. Whether it be pizza, pasta, risotto, calzone, salads or meat dishes, this place pretty much has you covered.

Having already had lunch, I popped in for a White Chocolate Toblerone Cheesecake. There’s an art to finely cutting a piece of cake, but what I received wasn’t it. The cheesecake was cream cheesed based which gave it a much softer consistency. There were plenty of toblerone chunks scattered throughout and the base was firm and crumbly. I personally prefer baked cheesecakes but it was good for what it was.

The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed, although I did come late in the afternoon which probably isn’t a busy period. The cost of the cheesecake was $6.90, which is average, but a quick look at their menu indicates their most expensive menu item is $24.50. This is pretty good compared to an Italian cafe closer to the city, although I would imagine their rent is cheaper.
I might try some of their dishes the next time I’m in the area.
