Cibo – New Winter Menu

Adelaide Food Central was invited to sample the new Winter menu at Cibo Espresso. All food and drink were provided free of charge.

Known for their great tasting coffee, Cibo Espresso have introduced a Winter menu that is perfect for the cold weather we’re experiencing. Dishes include a selection of pizzas, pastas and soups that are all hearty and satisfying.

Minestrone Soup

The Minestrone Soup is an Italian classic. A lovely thick soup full of broken down vegetables and firm cannellini beans. Served to your table piping hot, this soup is ideal for the cold wintery weather.

Lenticchie e Pancetta

The Lentil and Pancetta Soup was also impressive. The robust hearty soup was full of soft delicate lentils and vegetables, and topped off with crispy pieces of pancetta. It was a hard choice in deciding which soup was my favourite.

Taglierini al Granchio

The Taglierini Pasta with Crab and Chilli was very similar to one of my favourite pasta dishes. Generous portions of crab meat were present in a thick rich tomato sauce. Subtle hints of chilli were present but not overpowering of the dish.

Penne All'Arrabbiata

The Penne Pasta with Capsicum, Olives and Chilli is a dish that I’ve had many times before and this one was executed well. The natural sweetness of the capsicum, the saltiness of the olives and the heat from the chilli all combine to create a very exciting dish.

Taglierini Tartufo

The Taglierini Pasta with Truffle and Mascarpone was my favourite of all the pastas. The distinct truffle flavour was prominent in this dish and was well balanced with the soft creamy mascarpone. I really enjoyed every bite of this dish.

Salame

The Salame pizza consisted of salami, mushroom, capsicum, chilli and olives. Cooked on a thicker than usual crust, the contrasting flavours of the capsicum, chilli and olives made this pizza really tasty.

Spinaci

The Spinaci Pizza consisted of spinach, ricotta and onion, and will definitely keep the vegetarians happy. The slightly sweet taste of the ricotta was well balanced by the natural sweetness of the onion. The spinach was a bit milder in taste and provided a lovely green colour on the dish.

Margherita

The Margherita is an Italian classic. It’s the simple things in life that are often the best and this is a great example.

It’s quite easy to pop into Cibo for a hot coffee during the Winter months, however there are now more options with their new range of hearty home style pizzas, pastas and soups. Delicious and nutritious, these dishes won’t disappoint!
