La Madeleine

La Madeleine is a cosy little French cafe located towards the end of the Parade as you’re heading out of the city. Open 7 days a week, they have a small breakfast menu which includes quiches, pies, French toast, omelettes, crepes and salads. They also offer freshly baked items such as croissants, home made loaf bread as well as a selection of sweets.

For breakfast, I had their Traditional French Toast which arrived at my table 15 minutes after ordering. The presentation was average and I was a bit disappointed no napkin was provided. The freshly baked cinnamon brioche was light and fluffy with a subtle sweetness and was well complimented by the natural sweetness of the banana, the crunchiness of the almond flakes and the smooth creamy Greek yoghurt.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was very relaxed with many locals coming here for breakfast. As far as price goes, it’s fairly cheap with croissants starting at $3.20 and with more substantial meals going all the way up to $14.90. The cost of the French Toast was $12.90 which was a bit pricey for what it was.

It’s nice to have a little bit of Paris on The Parade. I’ll have to come back another time to check out some of their other menu items.
