The Travelling Greek

Opening for its third weekend in The Market Shed on Holland is The Travelling Greek. Set up as a small stall towards the rear, this place offers a small selection of hot meals, salads, sweets and savoury products. The Vegetarian Mezze Plate was of interest as you get a bit of everything, however, there is the option of including meat on the plate should you choose to.

For lunch, I had the Mezze Plate with Lamb and Chicken Yiros meat. For $12, the serving is more than generous and will satisfy the hungriest of appetites. One common theme with the dish is the Greek Tomato Rice is presented in many forms. The rice was soft and fragrant with a subtle hint of spice. The lamb and chicken yiros meat was well marinated and were full of flavour. Thrown into the mix was pita bread and garlic sauce that had a nice thick consistency, okra, and wedges which were crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy in the centre.

Full of nice friendly staff, this is one place to try in this market hub of international cuisines.
