Jing Thai is located in a small shopping complex just off Morphett Road in Morphettville. Run by a Chinese couple, the menu not surprisingly a mixture of Chinese and Thai dishes. Their offerings are divided into entrees, soups, curries and your various proteins.
The shop is very small and can only accommodate for 8 people. The decor is basic and in need of an upgrade. One side of the room has dedicated seating for take away customers, while the other side is for dine in.
For lunch, I had the Pad Thai which came out 15 minutes after ordering with average presentation. The noodles were over cooked and some pieces of chicken and shrimp were visibly charred. The chicken was tender and succulent, and the bean sprouts and peanuts added a nice crunchy texture. The flavour of the dish was slightly on the bland side but the colour was just right.
The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the pricing was a bit high for a lunchtime special. The cost of lunch was $11.50, when a suburban store like this should be charging around $10. Having said that, their normal prices are quite reasonable with their most expensive dish being $16.80.
Average location that serves average Pad Thai.
