Skala Artisan Bakers – Adelaide Central Market Stall

Renowned South Australian bakery Skala Artisan Bakers has today opened its first stall at
the Adelaide Central Market.

After operating from the neighbouring Central Market Arcade stall for four decades, Skala –
one of the state’s most iconic bakery brands – has officially become an Adelaide Central
Market trader at Stall 25.

Adelaide Central Market Authority General Manager Jodie Kannane said she was excited to
welcome Skala Artisan Bakers as an official trader to the Market.

“With almost 70 years of history, local production and a commitment to traditional baking
methods, Skala is a perfect fit for the Adelaide Central Market,” she said.

Established in 1952, Skala Artisan Bakers is proudly South Australian owned and operated
and is dedicated to traditional artisan baking methods that create delicious modern bakery
products.

Baked fresh daily from the highest quality local ingredients, customers can enjoy a variety of
breads, pastries and quiches, as well as coffee and donuts, cakes, pies, pasties and
sausage rolls.

Skala Bakery CEO Nick Bagot said he was thrilled to be moving into the Adelaide Central
Market after operating in the Market precinct for so many years.

“Skala’s range of products is made for South Australians by South Australians,” Mr Bagot
said. “Our products are handcrafted using traditional baking techniques and baked fresh
every day. The Adelaide Central Market is a world-renowned fresh food market, which offers
the best of South Australia. It is the perfect place to offer our locally made products to South
Australian food lovers. Our brand-new stall will offer a wide range of delicious bakery
products for every occasion.”

The new Skala stall has been constructed from the ground up and includes a brand new fitout,
reflecting our local heritage and features the rustic and natural elements of South
Australia.

Skala will celebrate its official launch on Friday 20 November, with specials available all day
between 7:00am – 9:00pm. More details will be shared via the Adelaide Central Market and
Skala’s social media platforms – @adelcentralmarket and @skalabakery.

Established in 1869, the Adelaide Central Market has been a thriving hub of food and culture
for over 150 years. With over 70 traders under one roof, the Adelaide Central Market is one
of the largest undercover fresh produce markets in the southern hemisphere.
