Today we took a trip to Stax Burger Co, which has just opened their second location in Prospect. Their first store is in Mount Gambier, but finally Stax has made its way to Adelaide!

The owner, Zaynn Bird, is absolutely committed to bringing Adelaide some of the tastiest and ‘Instagrammable’ burgers. Stax truly lives up to their self-acclaimed title of “The Burger Artists”. We were amazed by the sheer height and size of them! It was truly a taste of an American-inspired dream. Along with their legendary burgers, Stax offers an array of classic sides and American sodas and iced teas. Stax offers an extensive menu, all available through their own app.

You can customise any burger and make it your own, we loved the many different variations and tastes we could have on just one burger!

“Every burger we make has to look good enough for a photo.” Said Zaynn, as he piled more and more patties onto a burger bun.

“Going from making burgers in my home kitchen to this place has been incredible.”

We enjoyed how laid-back and relaxed the atmosphere felt, along with the very friendly and enthusiastic staff. They were too good to us!

Burgers

Dressed (with an extra beef patty)
This burger truly lives up to its name, proudly dressed up in all our favourites. Packed with a beef patty (you are welcome to add extras like we did!), lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard, mayo and ketchup. Honestly a real-life Krabby Patty!

Tasty (with an extra beef patty)
This chicken burger is like no other. Stax really know how to fry chicken. We loved the tangy mustard special sauce paired with the well-seasoned and crispy chicken patty. We added a beef patty and it was the best decision ever, we loved the added smokiness from the beef with the creamy Stax sauce.

Mahsun Derulo
This burger is an off-menu item and available through the Stax app. Mahsun Derulo (the name is a mix of the singer, Jason Derulo, and Mahsun, an employee at Stax!) is a hearty mix of Stax fried chicken, beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo, Stax sauce and heavy cheese. What a burger!

Stax
Nothing can beat a classic. The Stax burger is a another off-menu item available through the Stax app and is filled with a beef patty, two of Stax’s crispy chicken strips, onion, Stax sauce and BBQ sauce. We loved the sweet and sour tastes from the Stax sauce and the BBQ sauce, not to mention the fantastic mix of chicken and beef.

The Cure
Appropriately named, The Cure burger is the only thing sure to curb those hangovers. A mouth-watering combination of a beef patty, a crispy chicken patty, extra cheese, mustard, fried onions, pickles and Stax sauce, this is a tough one to beat. We loved the caramelised onion taste with the tangy mustard. Give us one of these on a lazy Sunday for sure!

Simple (with three beef patties and bacon)
Now this is a burger that America would be proud of. We added an extra three patties and bacon to ours and it truly was something that dreams are made of. This burger is not for the faint hearted, but such a tasty and (almost) heart-stopping experience. It is great that you can customize any burger you want at Stax, any flavour combination is possible.

Sides

Crispy Chicken Strips
Stax is VERY passionate about their chicken as well as their burgers. We had high expectations and they were not let down! The crispy chicken strips are available in packs of 5, 10 or 20. The coating is crunchy and well-seasoned, the chicken salt is perfect. Served with a generous serve of Stax sauce, these chicken strips are too good to pass up.
