The Barossa Valley is an icon of South Australia. It carries its prestige in its winery’s, picturesque locations and fantastic food. With such a glorious reputation it can be hard to make your mark amongst everything else the Barossa Valley has to offer. Stepping up to the plate and smashing it out of the park is The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. A one stop shop for everything you could want on a trip up north.

As expected the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company specialises in finely crafted chocolates made onsite with care and love. However it’s new location in Tanunda is so much more than that. As well as expansive store with a huge selection of chocolates in many cute and intricate designs, from the classics like chocolate frogs and eggs to more exquisite chocolate hens and gold shoes. The piece de résistance would have to be the centrepiece chocolate waterfall. Barossa Valley Chocolate Company are also offering the relatively new Ruby chocolate, a type of chocolate which has only recently been discovered. Owners Chris and Sandy Day have travelled the world to find inspiration and ideas for this new Barossa landmark. From Belgium came the idea of their large chocolate letters. Spell your name in delicious dairy milk.

As stated earlier the chocolate is the highlight but it is by no means all the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company has going for it. Quite the opposite. The space is also accompanied by a warm and inviting café/restaurant space with an outside deck area by a placid man-made lake. The location is a scenic paradise with a beautiful setting and backdrop. The presentation is about 90% done with more work to be done on their outdoor space to make it even more accommodating and stunning.

Also tagging with the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company is Vineyard Road wines. Operating a cellar door from the location, Vineyard Road offer tastings along with chocolate parings to add even more value to this new Barossa locale.

The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company has everything you could want and Chris and Sandy have only scratched the surface of what they plan to accomplish with this place. Events, functions, a fantastic kitchen, delectable chocolates, fine wine. This is the next level of Barossa Valley venues.
