Adelaide Fringe 2019 – Get Rocked!

This week we got to experience some of the best of Australian rock live. For one night only in Adelaide, Les Gock and Rick Lum from the iconic 1970s glam-rock band HUSH performed with Mark Gable from Choirboys to bring us a night to remember.

Get Rocked! was an unforgettable show. It was fantastic to experience live music from some of Australia’s musical icons and to have a taste of the rock scene in Australia. Throughout the show, Les, Rick and Mark told stories of HUSH’s background and how the band came to be. We were enlightened of their experiences meeting AC/DC when they were just starting out and how they found themselves to be one of the first bands in Australia to be in on the glam-rock scene.

“We were the first glam-rock band in Australia…no one else was doing it!” Les Gock exclaimed to the crowd.

Along with hearing their greatest hits live, we kept being treated to their fascinating stories. They truly gave us a taste into their lives on the road in the 1970s and how HUSH came to be. They told us how a young Michael Jackson came into their dressing room when they supported The Jackson 5 in 1975, telling them how much he enjoyed their new single “Glad All Over”. What an iconic story to share!

Their music was loud and proud, we could hear the dark bass and electric guitar pumping in our veins. Such an adrenaline rush of a performance, Get Rocked! was a once in a lifetime show that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Thank you so much for inviting us to such a fantastic show. We do hope to see HUSH and Mark Gable in Adelaide soon!
