Calling all chocolate lovers!
Haigh’s Chocolates have recently re-opened their Visitor Centre retail store, in Parkside. The newly renovated store offers free factory viewing tours, complimentary tea or coffee and, of course, a taste of some delicious Haigh’s chocolates. More than 100,000 people are served at this location each year. Tours operate Monday and Saturday between 9:00am and 2.30pm, Tuesday to Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm and are unavailable on Sundays or public holidays.
Haigh’s have been making fine chocolates in Australia since 1915. The company continues to source only the very best ingredients, and use artisan skills combined with specialised chocolate making techniques to create award winning products. Many of their chocolates continue to be hand-made and finished as well. Haigh’s are the oldest family-owned chocolate makers in Australia, and today, the company is run by fourth generation Haighs, Alister and Simon. They’ve been joint Managing Directors since 1990, with John Haigh, Chairman of the Board. Not only is the chocolate rich, but also the history that comes along with it.
“Our cooking processes are unique. Our factory teams use meticulous artisan skills combined with the latest in modern manufacturing, high levels of training, equipment and techniques to create chocolates that look and taste delicious. Each year our team of confectioners work to create new recipes and perhaps fine-tune old favourites to ensure we continue to offer our customers a diverse selection of the most delectable chocolates. There is something for everyone with a choice of over 250 varieties from chocolate frogs to gift boxes of hand-dipped truffles.”
With the silly season fast approaching, now is the perfect time to pop in store and check out the new Christmas collection. Visit any one of the stores and you’ll find that chocolate tasting, gift wrapping and personalised attention is all part of the service you will receive.
