On Wednesday night we attended the launch of The Little French Wine Bar. You may be familiar with it already without realising it. The little French wine bar is a rebrand of La Vigne, located next to Norwood Parade favourite La Madeleine. Known for its superb coffee, hot chocolate, crepes and cakes they claim to have the best Croissants in Adelaide, and as I sit here devouring a sugar glazed almond croissant that I snaffled at the launch, I dare say they are right!
Now, I’ve always been a fan of La Vigne, a perfect venue of a catch up with a couple of friends over a bottle of wine, or sipping cocktails on an intimate date. But it had its difficulties in translation to English and even armed with my high school French I found it difficult to pronounce. “I’ll meet you at The Little French Wine Bar after work on Friday” – see how easy that is now!! And with the approaching warm weather it’s the perfect time to make the most of the pretty rear courtyard or sit on the footpath watching the world go by – dogs (le chien) are welcome!
The bar staff really know their stuff and are more than happy to assist you navigate your way through the French based wine menu. Feeling adventurous? Why not take advantage of a tasting flight? 3 half spirit pours for $18, a great way to open up to new flavours and experiences. Inevitably you will get hungry so a portfolio of cheese is on hand – choose between a selection of cheese boards, pate & rillette or a small goods platter. You can expect live music, cheeky bar banter and a great time at The Little French Wine Bar.
Open Thurs and Fri from 5pm-late, and all day Sat and Sun.
