Behind the wooden doors of ‘The Speakeasy’ at Gluttony hides a magic show so spectacularly fun you’ll be bouncing from your seat in excitement. In his Adelaide Fringe Preview Show, ‘… Let’s Get Trickier’, South Australia’s leading family magician Michael Wilkop – aka Mickster the Trickster – had the audience captivated in seconds as a dove flew from his hands.
In his high energy, fast paced and strongly witted show, Wilkop and his lovely assistant Becky Lee presented astonishing illusions, mind-boggling psychological techniques and bewildering trickery; there is something for everyone in this sixty-minute show! Inviting adults and children alike to a variety of performances including ball tricks, audience competitions and cartoon drawings that seem to have a mind of their own, audiences were falling off their seats in laughter and surprise.
Specialising in magic since 1996 where he was inspired by his first Adelaide Fringe Show, Wilkop has been inspired to become a master in prestidigitation.
Adelaide Food Central would like to thank Wilkop, Gluttony and the Adelaide Fringe for inviting us to the preview night of a spectacular magic show. All proceeds from tonight’s show were generously donated by Wilkop to ‘Headspace’ and ‘Cancer Council SA’, two charities that are extremely important to him.
For a limited season, ‘Let’s Get Trickier’ can be seen from February 17 to March 5 at Gluttony. Tickets range from $15-$22.
