The Tower Hotel is a local to many that live at the base of the Adelaide foot hills. Located in a heritage listed building that has been around since 1840, the venue has undergone a multi-million dollar facelift revealing a new beer garden, dining areas, a revamped menu and even a cinema.
“The redevelopment caters for all members of the community” says Owner, Greg Maitland. The Tower previously attracted an older demographic and they wanted the renovations to offer something that appealed to everyone. “We’re right across the road from Uni SA’s Magill campus, so we wanted to create a fresh, go-to destination for students and young people,” says Maitland.
Their iconic sports bar has been transformed into an Ale House with more than 14 beers on tap, growing hops and catering to 120 people. There’s also a new beer garden which has been called ‘The Garden Bar’. Kids can be kept entertained with a children’s cinema that holds up to 40. “The cinema is the first of its kind in Adelaide. We wanted to create a space kids could have an absolute blast and also give their parents the chance to enjoy dinner,” says Maitland.
It’s not just renovations that have happened at the Tower, the menu has been revamped as well. With the help of a qualified nutritionist, a menu has been developed that is healthy, flavoursome and balanced. “The new healthy options will be served up across the board in our new dinning room and family bistro, with late night dining available as well,” says Maitland.
The new look Tower is now open to the public.
