Variety on King William is Adelaide’s favourite long lunch, and is held along Adelaide’s most exclusive shopping strip, King William Road, Hyde Park. Adelaide Food Central, along with other Fashionistas, A-List Socialites, Media and Corporates were warmly invited to cover the event.
Seated alfresco style on the road, the event was bigger than ever, with the release of 10 additional tables joining the already sold out event. 720 guests enjoyed a delicious four course Asian inspired menu created by some of the road’s favourite restaurants. To complement the food, every course was matched with beautiful local wines from Tomich Wines, Fox Gordon and Wicks Estate. Lion dancers were also on hand to complement the “Escape to the Orient” theme.
Featured in the Adelaide Fashion Festival calendar, the main event was a European style runway show. Boasting one of the longest runways in town, 45 models walked more than two kilometres in order to finish the show. The models showcased the hottest spring/summer looks, all supplied by fashion, shoe and jewellery traders along the road.
Traders along the road were open as per normal, and people that missed out on a ticket were able to soak up the atmosphere and watch the show from one of the many cafes and restaurants along the road, or from the White Marquee viewing area at the southern end of the runaway.
As expected, the Variety on King William was a huge success. We’d like to thank Little Lion PR for having us, and all the numerous businesses that made the event possible. We certainly look forward to what’s in store next year.
