Like all good dessert bars, parts of the menu change seasonally to keep customers both interested and coming back. This strategy has worked for The Aviary Dessert Kitchen which is why they’re still around today. This year, winter has gone a bit longer than expected, so the introduction of the new spring/summer dessert menu has been delayed. With some glimpses of the warmer weather, the owners thought it was time to release the menu.
First up was the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Snickers. Back by popular demand, this dessert is a deconstructed Snickers Bar. The peanut butter panna cotta had the perfect wobble, and its texture was smooth and creamy with the distinct flavour of peanuts. The chocolate ganache was rich and decadent, and its sweetness was complemented by the droplets of caramel. A Snickers Bar has never looked or tasted so good!
The Mango Tango Panna Cotta is not as exciting as the previous dessert but it was still on point. The panna cotta was firm with a lovely smooth texture. The sweet flavour of mango came from the coulis, and was further complemented by the strawberries and blueberries.
New to the menu is A Fruit Amongst The Garden. Sitting in the centre of the plate was a lychee parfait. It had a silky smooth texture which was bursting with a lychee flavour. The raspberry cream and gel added a lovely sweetness, as did the delicate fairy floss. The pistachio crumble provided a crunchy texture which was much needed in the dessert.
At The Aviary Dessert Kitchen, so much thought and attention to detail has been put into their desserts. Not only do their desserts look great, but more importantly, they taste great too. Combine this with great customer service and a cosy environment, and their sweet offerings have never tasted better. The new spring/summer menu has just been released so make sure you check them out.
