Jamie’s Winter Favourites with Campari Aperitivo and Seasonal Truffles

Jamie’s Italian and Campari Australia have joined forces to bring us some exceptional seasonal winter favourites. From July 25th to August 31st, customers can enjoy a $10 Campari aperitivo with some delicious in-season truffle dishes.

To start things off, we had the Sbagliato aperitif which had an aroma of citrus with subtle hints of raisins. The drink is lighter than a negroni with a lovely effervescent taste. There are notes of bitter orange and a slightly sweet taste that comes from the classic bitter Campari finish.

This prepared us for the Ravioli stuffed with mushrooms, ricotta and truffles served with a rich tomato sugo and finished with truffle and parmesan. Mushrooms and truffles go hand in hand, and the combination worked incredibly well with this dish. Inside the well cooked ravioli pasta was a filling that was smooth and creamy. The distinct aroma and nutty flavours of the truffle were present, which were well complemented by the sweet sugo.

The Americano aperitif is refreshing and light with the orange and bitter from the Campari tempered by the sweetness from the Cinzano Rosso and the carbonation from the soda.

We had this with the Truffle and Porcini Fettucine. Just like the previous dish, the combination of mushrooms and truffle work together perfectly. The freshly house made fettucine is al dente, and is smothered in a rich and creamy porcini sauce. The flavour of truffles in this dish is stronger than the last, which is just the way we like it.

The Campari Spritz has the aromas of orange, peach and rhubarb. The taste is clean, crisp and refreshing, with the Campari and Prosecco working amazingly well together.

We paired the aperitif with the Chicken Milanese. With the appearance of a chicken schnitzel, the free range chicken is stuffed with prosciutto and provolone. The chicken is then crumbed and fried to a light golden brown. The meat was juicy and succulent, while rich and buttery. The dish was packed full of flavour with the taste of truffle present with every bite.

The aperitivos from Campari will certainly get you in the mood for the amazing truffle dishes at Jamie’s Italian. The $10 Campari aperitivo deal is only available until August 31st, so if you love truffle, you better get onto it!
